The elegant profile of Queen Victoria on the Penny Black was engraved by Charles and Frederick Heath, based on Henry Corbould’s sketch. The sketch itself was inspired by a cameo created by William Wyon in 1834 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s visit to London. This regal depiction remained on British stamps until her passing in 1901, symbolizing an era of immense progress.

- “POSTAGE” at the top, differentiating it from revenue stamps.
- “ONE PENNY.” at the bottom, indicating the postage rate.
- Maltese crosses with radiant solar discs in the upper corners.
- Position letters in the lower corners to signify the stamp’s location on the printed sheet.

After I originally left a comment I seem to have
clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox
and now every time a comment is added I get four emails with the same comment.
There has to be an easy method you are able to
remove me from that service? Kudos!
